Behrends Gallery features works from father and son.

Monroe Behrends was born and raised in Luckenbach, Texas Community just 10 miles from Fredericksburg, TX... Yes that Luckenbach, Texas.  He began exploring his art passion early in life and begin with a road side stand in the 1970's and his passion for art has never gone away and he continues to create unique works, including the use of a dremel tool to etch beautiful wildlife and other scenes into rocks.  He also creates beautiful Texas Hill Country landscapes with oils.  Springtime when the Hill Country comes alive with blue bonnets is an inspiration for many of his works.  His work has been purchased from clients all over the world.  He also utilizes alternative mediums such as saw blades, and granite to create Hill Country Landscapes.  His hand etching of wildlife and other animals, such as dogs tend to end up being inspired pieces.

Jason Behrends also raised in Luckenbach, Texas Community and is the son of Monroe.  Jason's art is abstract and focuses on texture and movement.  His passion clearly stems from growing up with an artist as a dad.  He remembers sitting in his Dad's studio and painting a landscape right next to him.  Learning those early skills of color blending and the texture paint can create, inspires him still today.  Jason works primarily with acrylic latex paints, but occasionally works with oils still today.  Jason was recently featured in the  BEST OF 2020 MEET THE ARTIST - DESTIG INTERVIEW
